Welcome to the world, Mikayla

Well, it is now official. I'm a grandfather. Or, if my wife has her way (and she usually does), "Pa-paw." Mikayla arrived Thursday afternoon at 2:50p.m. central time, at 20.5 inches and 8 pounds, 1.25 ounces. As you can see from the pics, she's blessed with more hair than her granddad.

The pics are Mikayla with her grandmother, me, her mother, and another with me. She's had a busy first two days in the world!

Mother and child are both doing very well. I have nothing deep or insightful to offer. I'm just in awe.

Awww cute!

Congratulations to Mum and the rest of the family.

You can feel the pride bursting out of the screen, especially the first pic of your wife.

Congrats, shift!

My kids call my dad "Papaw", with the first a pronounced as in apple.

Congrats! That's awesome! I love the pictures. All of them. She's go the same stats our first daughter did, with the 8.1 and 20 inches. Short and chubby :) They're better that way! Give her kisses from Florida from me, please.

That's exactly how she plans to teach Mikayla to say it. I think she will come up with her own name for me. Kids usually do, eh?

And she has no shortage of kisses going, M!

Good job Gramps.[Just Kidding Pops.][Wait no I'm not either.] Beautiful pics. Baby is sooooooooo cute according to Amber. She wants me to say I'm proud to be an uncle... but one step at a time. Don't know how I feel yet. Amber's proud to be an aunt.

Hey, congratulations Pa-Paw! She's a cutie, particularly in that last photo.

Incidentally, my nephews call my father Pa-Paw and we'll teach my daughters to use the same name for him.
